Heck of a match this evening out of Santa Clara. Red card, man down, yet come away with a clean sheet. A few steps slower on a couple disallowed goals (as they were offsides) and maybe we walk with a 3-0 win, and it’s sown up even earlier.

Regardless. Who thought these guys would go this far based on what we saw from them the last 18 months or so? Maybe the Group wasn’t the toughest and Bosnia- Herzegovina isn’t football royalty, but you play who they put in front of you. Props to the entire team for keeping their heads about them, playing a good physical game, and pressing to score when the opportunities presented themselves. Congrats to our co-host countries as well for advancing to the Round of 16. Both look good. We’ll see who gets the farthest.

I’ve REALLY enjoyed the World Cup this year. From the Algerian-Lawrence KS love affair to the Scots drinking Boston dry to the Mexico-Korea brotherhood. I know most of us will go back to our lives in a few and probably some of those good feelings will disappear but for now, in these times, with the shit heads in power in so many countries including my own- its just been real nice to see folks get along more than not, and enjoy something fun.

Onward to Belgium on the 6th July!
